The story behind the tours....

Director of Blue Planet Tours, Ian Stuart, possesses a Science degree & Education diploma from the University of Queensland, Masters Degree in Environmental Science from Melbourne University, is a registered Australian teacher with many years experience in senior Sciences.

Ian started Blue Planet Tours in 1994 by taking weekend tours to local Brisbane destinations, particularly Moreton Island which he particularly loves. Since then, the company has expended to include Fraser Island, Great Barrier Reef, Byron Bay, Flinders Ranges and Ayers Rock (Uluru).

Ian's background means that his tours are focused, informed, intelligent and fun.

Clients are typically young international students from non-English speaking backgrounds who are visiting Australia to learn the English language, and university students from the US on semester exchange programmes and cultural exchange groups from places such as France who explore Australia during their vacation period. We also have a number of local corporate clients.

Operations Manager:
Simon Uren is a "Jack Of All Trades" ... and Master of quite a few! From a remarkably eclectic background including being a jackeroo, hotel manager, station manager, fire fighter, ..... combines communication skills with technical know-how. This means if yoiu are caught in the Outback in an extreme situation, Simon is the guy most likely to rescue you.

Andrew:
Andrew Davis moved north from Tasmania to Queensland to find some sunshine. He has been travelling ever since conducting tours from The Great Barrier Reef to Sydney to the Outback. He moved from a career in telecommunications into adventure tourism because this change put him in tune with real interests- people. Despite Andrew's wild appearance when he is in nature's elements, he is a warm and friendly guy who can make guests feel at home in any environment.

Crew
Your tour will be accompanied by a professional bus driver as well as a dedicated cook trained in outdoor cuisine. Both staff members are trained, knowledgeable, friendly and will ensure you will have the best possible adventure experience.
